The Liverpool boss was among those who clarified his departure from the project after it was announced that the Reds would be one of six English clubs breaking away from UEFA to form a new competition with closed shops.
Liverpool fans hated it and the players made it clear that they did not want it to happen on social media, which led to the club withdrawing less than 48 hours after it was announced.

But despite the collapse of the Super League, protests against the owners involved have continued throughout England. On Friday night, Arsenal fans were seen outside the Emirates to chase out owner Stan Kroenke, and similar scenes have been seen over London in Chelsea.
However, Klopp believes that the Super League is now stuck in the past and has urged the skilled to stop “dismantling” supporters. But he once again made it clear that it was the Liverpool owners, and not the club itself, who made the decision.
“You all have to calm down. It’s winding people up.”
“Nobody wanted it. Definitely. But now we’ll deal with it.”

“It is constantly mentioned, Liverpool’s football club, Liverpool’s football club – no, it was not Liverpool’s football club. They were representatives of Liverpool’s football club, we have to make a distinction,” Klopp said ahead of Liverpool’s draw with Newcastle.
“It’s really very important. I see the pictures in the last days of Arsenal and Chelsea stuff like this. I really think you all need to calm down.
A handful of owners are trying to tear down our game and may well try to do it again, and we’re just told to “calm down and move on”. Great admirer of Klopp but he is spectacularly tone deaf here. Without the fans of our beautiful game, it would be much uglier today. https://t.co/rRH40Kal0p

“Yesterday on Sky, three journalists sitting all day talking about it, it diverges people. You can not just create other images, we are still in a pandemic. People are out there without face masks and shouting their opinion.
“All the pundits also have to calm down a bit because, yes, no one definitely wanted it. But now we’ll deal with it and not constantly show that we did not want it.”
