Tottenham raise the Harry Kane price tag to 175 million pounds

Tottenham Hotspur have ruled out selling Harry Kane to another Premier League club and have raised their foreign price tag to a whopping £ 175 million to scare away any bidders, amid ongoing speculation about the England captain’s future.

It has been rumored in recent months that Kane is growing frustrated by Spurs’ lack of cutlery and failure to challenge in the biggest competitions, which could lead him to consider his future at the club.

Tottenham have fallen behind in the Premier League since finishing second in 2016/17 and have not been further than 16 years in the Champions League since 2011 except to reach the final in 2019. Their European campaign this season ended with a shock 3-0 defeat against Dinamo Zagreb in the Europa League last month, while they are fighting hard just to get into the Premier League top six.

The Spurs are determined not to lose a player who has developed since the age of 11 and has scored over 200 goals in the last seven seasons. He is very much back to his best 2020/21 and is about to go over 30 goals in all competitions for the first time since 2017/18.

But there is interest in the 27-year-old among concerns about his future prospects at Spurs. It is rumored that Real Madrid will monitor Kane in addition to other goals such as Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland, while Manchester City will consider him as an alternative if they do not land Haaland.

The Sun reports that Kane will not force himself out of Spurs, although he realizes he may need to compete for the biggest trophies, and hopes the club can still match his ambitions.

But even if it is Kane who indicates a willingness to leave, it is said that Spurs will “dig in the heels” and make it “almost impossible” for him to leave if he does not terminate his contract which expires in 2024. To do so the club will completely refuse to do business with another Premier League side and will demand “exceeding” 175 million euros (206 million euros) from all European giants.

That figure is higher than previous estimates of his valuation of Spurs, which amounted to £ 150 million.

Kane himself has remained for the future. He has refused to discuss it directly, but has also gone through the question of possibly moving on and has not ruled out anything.

“I think it’s a difficult question to answer right now,” he said last weekend.

“It is important that all my focus is on the England matches that are coming now and the rest of the season with Spurs and then Euro. Thinking about speculation or rumors would be detrimental to my own performance.

“I always like to be focused on a goal and a job and that is to finish strong with Spurs, win these qualifiers with England and hopefully continue and have fantastic euros. I try to stay away from that speculation as much as possible. I am completely focused on doing the job on the pitch until the end of the summer and then we will see where we go from there. ”
