But vaccination has also been extended to anyone who wants to be vaccinated “within the limits of available doses and whether priority people have already been vaccinated or have not presented themselves,” specifies Ousseynou Badiane, coordinator of the vaccination program. “We did not think it was necessary to make too many restrictions as the disease continues to spread,” he explains.
Senegal has not yet run out of stock, but it expects one million doses of AstraZeneca as part of the global Covax initiative in May. And President Macky Sall announced that 3.9 million Johnson & Johnson vaccines have been ordered in hopes of getting them by the end of April.
