At the entrance to Mounkala, no specific security device. Two men improvise a prayer in French and in Lari, the language of the area, before lifting a light barrier made of Chinese bamboo. Dressed in jeans, Pastor Ntumi comes out of a corner and greets us with a wide smile under a big sun. Some time later, he changes his clothes and lends himself to questions from journalists.

A vote in peace

He, who supported opponent Guy-Brice Parfait Kolélas during the last presidential election, does not take a position this time, but wants the vote to take place in peace.

“The National Council of Republicans (CNR) believes that the presidential election must be conducted in peace, transparency, freedom and with respect for the rules of the democratic game. It should not be the occasion to awaken the ancient demons to division, hatred and settlement, as it did a few years ago, ”the pastor declared in the presence of a few dozen former fighters.

A guard

He then asks the authorities to take concrete action in his favor by applying the peace agreement. Pastor Ntumi is especially waiting for a special status to be defined for him and for him to be assigned a guard of thirty soldiers.
