Somali Parliament Member Urgently Flown to Nairobi Over Concerns of Poisoning
MOGADISHU, Somalia (AXADLE) – Concerns of potential poisoning arose as Somali Federal MP Mohamed Abukar Jacfar was hurriedly flown to Nairobi on Saturday when his health sharply declined.
Initially, Jacfar was under medical care at Digfeer Hospital in Mogadishu due to a mysterious illness.
Medical insiders disclosed that toxic agents were identified in his system, primarily impacting his stomach.
Physicians at Digfeer notified his family that Somalia lacked the advanced treatment he required.
An air ambulance swiftly evacuated Jacfar to Nairobi, seeing him admitted to the Kenyan capital late on Saturday.
A leading political player in Mogadishu, Jacfar previously served as Commissioner of Dayniile District. Known for his influential militia ties, he maintains a close relationship with former President Sheikh Sharif Sheikh Ahmed, now spearheading the opposition against President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud’s regime.
Though no official update has been released on Jacfar’s status, reports suggest he remains in a precarious condition.
