Prime Minister Barre Unveils Newly Constructed Road in Mogadishu’s Garasbaaley Area

Mogadishu (AX) – On Friday, Somali PM Hamsa Abdi Barre unveiled a freshly asphalted road in Garasbaaley, a district within Banadir. This new road aims to ease congestion and boost movement around Mogadishu.

The event saw Mogadishu’s Mayor, Yusuf Hussein Jimale, often called “Madaale,” along with cabinet members, officials from Banadir’s regional administration, and locals

gracing the inauguration. Prime Minister Barre acknowledged that the road arose from the “Build your country with one dollar” drive, funded by taxes from Banadir’s people. It’s a cornerstone of Mogadishu’s growth strategy.

He called upon the regional authorities and citizens to protect this infrastructure. Moreover, he urged them to unite with security personnel to fend off threats from the al-Shabab insurgents.
