The almighty head of military intelligence had been questioned for several days. A few hours before his death, he had even been disarmed and placed under house arrest.
After a year of investigation, the prosecutor decided to stand trial the general’s wife and her mother, which they accuse of intentional murder. But the case is confused, because according to information from RFI, the autopsy report concluded that a hanging was “incomplete and atypical”, but no defensive injuries or bruises were found on his body.
The report therefore does not clearly define the cause of death: neither murder nor suicide. The investigators also lacked several important elements. The rope that would have been used for hanging was not found. The time of death is also difficult to determine, as the body temperature was not taken when he arrived at the hospital.
In this context, the defense lawyers requested and was given a postponement for a week to take care of all the documents in the case. There are over 1300 in total. Meanwhile, all detainees, including the two main defendants in house arrest, have requested to be released. The court is expected to rule on these requests on Tuesday.
