MOGADISHU, Somalia – The Salaam Somali Bank (SSB) provided free microfinance to small businesses in the country’s capital as part of the annual Grand Pleasure program designed to boost culture and rival economy.
On Monday July 5, the Bank’s branch at Km-5 in Mogadishu [Zoobe] offered free microfinance to resident traders, including women, in an effort to help develop their fledgling businesses, according to management.
Speaking on the occasion, beneficiaries of free microfinance from Salaam Somali Bank said they were grateful to the Bank for the valuable funding that will help them realize their business dreams.
During eleven years of service, the Salaam Somali Bank has received praise for its commitment to improving the lives of Somalis through investments and a free microfinance fund established to help local traders.
In addition, the Mogadishu-based private bank also supports entrepreneurs by providing start-up and growth finance with active support to youth and women entrepreneurs.
Free microfinance aims to give entrepreneurs inspiring visions to solve big problems and create business solutions in Somalia, a country that has been plagued by decades of conflict and famine.
