as reported from Nouackchott,Salem Mejbour Salem

It was President Ghazouani himself who handed over the insurance cards to the first beneficiaries during a ceremony held Friday night at the Nouakchott Convention Center. They were a hundred heads of family who had made the trip to the Mauritanian capital. They came from the regions of the interior of the country to attend the ceremony and receive the valuable sesame from the hands of the head of the Mauritanian state.

“I am the head of the family and I have several children,” explains Fatma, who comes from Tamechekett, a region in the east of the country 800 km from Nouakchott. I was happy when I was contacted to make this trip. I received my card as you see there. “

With its insurance card, Fatma, like 620,000 people, will benefit from full support.

“The first recipients of this support were selected on the basis of the poverty criteria,” explains Taazour Director of Communications Mohamed El Kory.

The National Agency for Solidarity and Anti-Exclusion has started distributing cards in 7 of the 15 regions of the country. The measure must be completed before the end of this year. From now on, about 12% of the population will be able to be taken care of for free.
