Kane was not sold without Nuno’s blessing

Incoming Tottenham Hotspur boss Nuno Espirito Santo has been informed that he will have the last word on whether Harry Kane will be allowed to leave the club this summer.

Kane has been involved in a story with Spurs over his future for a long time. The Spurs talisman has previously revealed his desire to move from the club this summer – even if it means going abroad – and has probably not changed since the announcement of Espirito Santos’ appointment.

However, it is believed that the England captain has not been in talks with his club in recent weeks, with his full concentration entering his country’s Euro 2020 campaign. He will captain the Three Lions in their quarter-final with Ukraine on Saturday.

The Telegraph reports that Levy insists his talisman will not be sold without the advice of new boss Espirito Santos. Should the former Wolves boss recommend that the club earn money and use the money for a proper restart of the squad, Kane may leave – even if Levy is determined to keep Kane at the club for at least another year.

But it is believed that Kane, after England’s European Championship campaign this summer, will meet face to face with his chairman to discuss the issue and present his argument for leaving Tottenham. The striker believes that the couple has a gentleman’s agreement on the issue, although it is reported that Levy may not see it that way, which means that Kane may have a struggle to get his own way.

Levy will reportedly only take cash for Kane and value him at around £ 150 million, but will only sell if Espirito Santo or football CEO Fabio Paratici confirms that the proceeds can be used to invest properly in the squad.

Manchester City have shown the most interest in the winner of the Premier League 2020/21 golden boots in this window and have already made a bid of 100 million pounds for the striker. Names like Aymeric Laporte and especially Raheem Sterling have been talked about as potentially important deals in business, although Levy does not consider a swap deal appropriate. In any case, Sterling is not interested in such a move and his salaries would not be affordable for Spurs.
