Oumar Sylla is today a bit of the main character, who reminds of the oppression that is taking place today in Guinea, against opponents and critical voices in power. And so he has been in arbitrary detention for more than seven months, since he was arrested in September 2020 in Conakry, while preparing to take part in a banned demonstration. This led to him being sentenced in January 2021 to eleven months in prison. It should also be remembered that he had to wait four months to be tried. He even had to go on hunger strike at the end of 2020 in order for his trial to take place, for his trial to be organized quickly, in accordance with international law, in general.
