Jennifer Aniston Has Started Eating This Food for the First Time

Jennifer Aniston is one of the most timelessly glowing stars of our time. Jen is open about her commitment to self-care, feeling great, and staying in shape… but, at 52, exactly how does she stay looking so good? For years, word had it that Aniston banned one particular food from her diet and practiced serious willpower. But, she recently revealed something you might be able to relate to: She’s finally letting herself enjoy it again.

Jennifer Aniston has started eating bread again.

After announcing in June that The Morning Show (the series for which she won the Screen Actors Guild award for Best Female Actor in a Drama Series last year) will soon return for its second season, Aniston discussed her lifestyle habits of late with People.

While People points out that Aniston has followed a low-carbohydrate eating plan “for years,” she revealed that she’s recently loosened her grip on that rule, saying, “[I] started to give myself a break, allowing yourself to have pasta, a sandwich.” Aniston added: “Everyone’s very afraid of the bread basket, and I’m no longer afraid. As long as it’s all done in moderation.”

Last November, Aniston announced that she’d joined Vital Proteins collagen products as their chief creative officer. “Years ago I started using Vital Proteins regularly,” she said. Then, the brand itself stated that Aniston is known to add collagen to smoothies and coffee. (If you’ve been curious about collagen, check out Is Collagen Healthy? She drinks plenty of water.

As her partnership with Vital Proteins suggests, Aniston pals up with brands she believes in. From the looks of this photo, it appears she’s not just a spokesperson for Smartwater, but also a consumer of it. In fact, one of her trainers, Mandy Ingber, told ABC News in 2014: “Jen is definitely somebody that has encouraged me to hydrate . . . She is a hydrator from way back in the day.”

Earlier this year, Women’s Health reported that Leyon Azubuike, one of Aniston’s trainers, said he encourages clients like Jen to eat “nutrient-rich foods, like a mix of healthy carbs, protein, leafy greens, and bright, colorful veggies.”

Yahoo! News has also suggested that Aniston counts avocados, egg whites, and salads among her nutrition must-haves.

From yoga to boxing, cardio, and resistance training (using her own body weight when possible), no wonder Aniston told People of her exercise routine: “I love it and I crave it.” Her routine sounds dynamic enough to keep her engaged—one source has said Jen typically works out for 90 minutes per session.
