USMNT prospect Gianluca Busio signs for Venice
Gianluca Busio is set to leave Sporting Kansas City after agreeing to sign Serie A side Venezia.
Busio is one of the most exciting prospects in the United States. He signed for Sporting KC as a homegrown player just 15 years old and made his MLS debut already in 2018. He soon became an important figure in the first team and already has 70 senior matches to his name even though he was only 19.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Busio will take the next step in his career by writing in Venice. Several other clubs were considered interested in the midfielder, including the A-Series Sassuolo series, which has a fantastic reputation for developing young players.
Despite this, Busio has chosen recently promoted Venice and he will immediately come to Italy to complete the deal. Sporting KC will initially receive EUR 4 million for its services, although this will increase after additions. Venezia returns to Serie A for the first time since 2002 this season after winning the Serie B play-offs last semester.
This can prove to be an inspired deal with Busio who is supported by many to go straight to the top. He has already caught the attention of his country and represented the United States at various youth levels before making his senior USMNT debut earlier this month.
Busio is an extremely versatile player who can play over the front line and in a position ten. But in the last two seasons, he has most often been used in a defensive midfield role. This is also where he has played during each of his appearances for the United States.
Technically, Busio rarely gives away the ball and also has fantastic dribbles. He should play nicely in Serie A where registas are highly respected.
