Things to know about Sheffield United kid Kyron Gordon
It may have been a season to forget for Sheffield United, but there may be a nugget of joy to come from the year 2021.
The future is bright on Bramall Lane and fans will hope that once their relegation from the Premier League is mathematically confirmed, they can start considering an immediate return to the top flight.
There are a number of bright views on Lane, but nothing more than 18-year-old center-back Kyron Gordon. The youth star has made great progress on Blade’s U23 side, and he has even trained with the first team in recent months.
But as always, his improvements have caught the attention of some of the Premier League giants. Manchester United, Liverpool and Everton have all been linked with a move for the teenager, with the Red Devils and Leeds United being the latest to note, according to the Daily Mail.
But what is there to know about the child?

As mentioned, Gordon is attracting attention at the youth level. He has come up through the ranks at Sheffield United, and at the age of 18 he is already a steady presence on the U23 side.
The defender is incredibly much thought of by the youth coaches at the club, and their faith has seen him promoted to train and travel with the senior squad.
There is a feeling that it is only a matter of time until he makes his debut in the first team, although the Blades may try to keep him hidden, to avoid tempting Premier League sides to make an offer.

For those who want to know what kind of player he is, he grew up learning the Chris Wilder way. Now the credit in that particular bank has decreased over the past 12 months, but it counts a lot for the development of young people.
Blade’s youth team plays in a similar way to the senior team, so all midfielders will have learned to play from the back and feel comfortable on the ball.
That ease of possession is crucial in the modern game, so while he is ready to join the Sheffield United defense, he is also set on thriving at many clubs.

It has not been such a successful season for Sheffield United this year, but before this nightmare campaign they had been seen as pioneers of a bold style of play.
The key to the brilliant adaptation to the Premier League was Chris Basham and his overlapping runs from midfield to major areas. It was something that was rarely seen in top flight and surprised everyone.
Gordon’s performances for the youth team have led many to believe he could take over from Basham in the future, as he possesses some similar qualities.
Just listening to interviews with Gordon makes you realize how ready he is for senior football. The teenager’s head remains firmly on his shoulders, and he speaks as a leader of a group and as a mature professional.
The kid also admitted that it was his dream to play at Bramall Lane at senior level. “The boys love to play here (Bramall Lane),” he said. “We are happy with it.
“We always play better in arenas, and obviously one day this is where we want to play with the first team, so it’s better to get used to it now.” Promising words for Bladen, at least.

Now it may be worrying news for Sheffield United believers. Gordon is young, catches the eye of the biggest teams in England and is not tied to the long-term future.
He signed a professional contract with the Blades back in the summer of 2019, which came into force at the end of his scholarship agreement last year.
The Yorkshire club will be desperate to nail him up for an extended deal before the summer, otherwise they risk losing him for cheap in the next few months or for nothing in later windows.
