The Liverpool line-up that should face Leeds on Monday
Liverpool continue their top four in the Premier League with a trip to in-form Leeds on Monday night.
Red’s title defense has been extremely disappointing but there is still hope for Champions League qualifiers, despite the crushing amount of injuries that have hampered the season for a number of their players.
Leeds stunned newly-awaited champions Manchester City and their swing-ho approach would help make Monday’s match an exciting one.
Here is the Liverpool side that will get to the field at Elland Road.
Alexander-Arnold has been criticized this season by Shaun Botterill / Getty Images
Alisson (GK) – It was not possible to endure Ollie Watkins’ strike in the victory against Aston Villa but managed to score goals against Real Madrid in the middle of the week, which made some saves in the process.
Trent Alexander-Arnold (RB) – The first stage against Real aside, Alexander-Arnold’s latest performances have been encouraging. Not to his 2019/20 standard, but his attack production has been better.
Nat Phillips (CB) – About the 21st choice midfielder in the Liverpool squad at the beginning of the season, Phillips has had to go in at a very difficult time for the Reds. In the name of justice, he’s likely to get a decent drag in the summer transfer window.
Ozan Kabak (CB) – Kabak’s appearances for Liverpool have been up and down since his move in January, but he was decent enough in Wednesday’s clash with Real. Sacrificed with an hour away in favor of a more attacking approach.
Andy Robertson (LB) – One of the few Liverpool players to come out of the season with a decent credit. Robertson’s attacking output has declined in the same way as Alexander-Arnold, although he still has five assists in the Premier League.

Fabinho (DM) – The player who gives Liverpool balance, Fabinho has been much missed in midfield when he had to replace in defense or was injured. His return to his usual position has definitely helped the Reds in recent weeks.
Thiago (CM) – Some have expected more from Thiago this season, given his exciting campaign with Bayern Munich last time, but it has been a difficult campaign for him to establish himself. Better performances will come next year, but Thiago should get a fresh start on Monday night regardless.
Georginio Wijnaldum (CM) – It is still very uncertain whether Wijnaldum will be at Anfield next season, or in any case we have not seen too many exceptional performances from the Dutchman this season. These are just the two Premier League goals for him so far.

Mohamed Salah (RW) – Liverpool may not have more trophies left to fight for, but Salah is right up there with the league’s top scorer. He is currently only behind Harry Kane, who is second ahead as he stands at the moment.
Diogo Jota (ST) – Jota has been a revelation of a signing for Liverpool, giving the clinical edge to the attack when players like Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane have floundered. Should enter start-XI.
Sadio Mane (LW) – Has been disappointing 2020/21 so far and lacked the explosive power that made him so excellent in front of goal last season.
