Spurs man Hart in talks to join Celtic
Celtic have opened talks with Tottenham Hotspur over a potential deal to sign former England goalkeeper Joe Hart.
The 34-year-old has played backup for Hugo Lloris over the past season, having spent the previous two years at Burnley. He has one year left on his current contract, but he may leave north London in the summer.

Fabrizio Romano reports that negotiations are underway between Celtic and Spurs on a potential deal that could get Hart to join the Scottish giants in the current transfer window.
Hart rose to the constellation of Manchester City and became their first choice champion during the club’s early success under new ownership and played a key role in their first ever Premier League triumph. His impressive performances led to him becoming England’s starting stopper and collecting 75 caps over nine years for the Three Lions.
However, he lost his place on the Man City side with Pep Guardiola’s arrival in 2016, and his career has suffered a steady decline since that moment. He endured difficult loan spells at Torino and West Ham before eventually leaving the Citizens permanently to join Burnley 2018.
Once again, Hart failed to nail down a first team place and left to become Llori’s backup in Spurs 2020. However, the goalkeeper may be on the move again and he may be with a cry of ordinary football in Scotland.
Celtic are trying to rebuild after losing the Scottish title to Rangers last season, a blow that caused coach Neil Lennon to leave the club and Ange Postecoglou to take his place. The Hoops need a solid starting goalkeeper, and although Hart may be seen as a game, he can boast a lot of experience and is a leader behind.
