Spain predicts start 11 against Croatia
Spain has had a relatively good match in the last 16 years of Euro 2020, with a date with Croatia set for Monday.
Luis Enrique’s men are favorites for the match and come into the clash in a high mood after beating Slovakia 5-0 in their last group game. They will hope to bring that momentum into a match against a Croatian side who only sealed their passage to the knockout rounds in their last group game – a 3-1 victory over Scotland at Hampden Park.
Here is 90 min prediction for Enrique’s start 11.
Laporte has been excellent / Quality Sport Images / Getty Images
Unai Simon (GK) – Two clean sheets from three matches is a solid return from Simon, who hopes to add another one here.
Marcos Llorente (RB) – Cesar Azpilicueta did well against Slovakia, but Llorente’s painful runs along the right could be the key to overwhelming Croatia’s defense.
Aymeric Laporte (CB) – Laporte has been excellent so far, Spain must be ecstatic to have finally convinced him to represent them.
Pau Torres (CB) – Scouts from all over Europe are watching Torres, and a big show here can convince a club to get their checkbook out.
Jordi Alba (LB) – Jose Gaya is a skilled alternative here, but Alba’s veteran leadership and experience of major tournaments may be needed to help a relatively inexperienced backline.

Rodri (DM) – Sergio Busquets is still doing well after testing positive for COVID-19, and there is no better substitute at base in midfield than Rodri.
Pedri (CM) – The star of Spain’s tournament so far, Pedri must be the first name on Enrique’s team sheet right now. He has been unreal.
Koke (CM) – Enrique’s favorite, expect Koke to complete the midfield trio.
Moreno should replace Morata / Quality Sport Images / Getty Images
Pablo Sarabia (RW) – Spain’s best player against Slovakia, Sarabia has earned a fresh start, although Ferran Torres may have something to say about it.
Gerard Moreno (ST) – Alvaro Morata really needs some time out of the limelight. He faces ugly abuse due to his poor performance, so even if Enrique loves him, it’s time for Moreno at the top.
Dani Olmo (LW) – Olmo is rested last time against Slovakia and is ready to return to the starting line-up, although some overwhelming performances from the first two matches have opened the door for Mikel Oyarzabal to take his place.
