Ecuador’s head honcho, Felix Sanchez, declared it a privilege to lock horns with Lionel Scaloni’s Argentina in their forthcoming Copa America quarterfinal clash.

As Sanchez gears up to topple Argentina for the first time since 2015, he extolled his counterpart for steering his squad to victory in the 2021 Copa America and their stellar performance in the 2022 World Cup.
“Scaloni has crafted a historic squad,” remarked Sanchez.
“Watching them play is a delight. Facing such a formidable team is truly an honor.”
Despite the likelihood of Argentina being without their skipper, Lionel Messi, due to a hamstring tweak during their recent 1-0 triumph over Chile, Sanchez anticipates a challenging encounter.
“Messi’s impact is unparalleled,” admitted Sanchez. “We’ve squared off with and without him.”
“Their style remains robust as they’ve developed a strong, cohesive unit with a flexible tactical approach.”
“We must be ready for anything and adapt accordingly.”
Since taking over from Gustavo Alfaro in March of the previous year, Sanchez has faced the Argentinian side twice, enduring narrow 1-0 defeats on both occasions.
When queried about his tactics for the upcoming match, he stated, “We need to engage fully and tweak our strategy to stand a chance against their tough defense.”
“They have a rock-solid formation and a plethora of attacking options.”
