Romelu Lukaku ready for Arsenal game

New Chelsea signing Romelu Lukaku has said he will be ready for the Blues’ Premier League meeting with Arsenal on Sunday.

Lukaku recently returned to the club from Inter for a record fee of 97.5 million pounds, after previously joining the Blues as a teenager in 2011. Much has changed since then, with the Belgian steadfastly establishing himself as one of the best strikers in world football. .

In his first interview as a Chelsea player, Lukaku admitted that he was very happy to be back and confirmed that he would be available for the London derby.

“I’m ready so it’s just a matter of joining the team and trying to prove myself to the coaches that if I am needed I can play. We all have to compete all week to get our starting place, he says according to the club’s website.

“For me it will be a new battle, but we are all fighting for one thing – to make Chelsea win! I will make sure that I give 100 percent in training every day and make sure that I am ready for every match.

“I’m glad the first is a big match away at Arsenal so hopefully we can prepare well and get a good result.”

Lukaku scored 30 goals when Inter won the Serie A title last season. The campaign in the past was just as impressive and he went on to describe the differences between games in Italy and England.

“Italy is tactically and technically a better league, but here in England it’s about the intensity. That’s what makes the difference but it’s no problem for me because I’ve been here for eight years and I know what it’s about, he says.

Lukaku also remained handsome when asked how Thomas Tuchel can put him in this season.

“My role will depend on what the game plan is and what the boss wants me to do. If he wants me to be a point of contact or if he wants me to attack the spaces behind, I can do it. The two years in Italy helped me master all aspects of the game for a striker and now I am ready, he says.

“I like the system we play and I am very flexible. I can play as twos or myself and I’m used to the system because that’s what we play with the Belgian national team so I do not need much time to adapt. It’s just knowing the strengths of my teammates in important positions and knowing what we do off the ball, then I can do the rest. ”
