Raheem Sterling; New Balance Furon v6 + boots for Germany
New Balance have created some brand new tailored boots for England winger Raheem Sterling to celebrate the Three Lions run to the knockout stages of Euro 2020.
England finished top of their group ahead of Croatia, the Czech Republic and Scotland and now have a date with old rivals Germany on Tuesday as they battle for a place in the quarter-finals for the first time since 2012.
To celebrate the occasion, New Balance has updated Sterling’s custom Furon v6 + shoes to add a new golden touch that will be displayed in the Germany match at Wembley Stadium.
The extra graphics have been added to Manchester City’s exclusive RS Alpha Flair boots, which also include England’s flag detail on the tongue and Raheem’s tailored insignia on the heel.
Sterling hopes that the new addition to his boots will give him an extra boost against Germany, which is the most frightening obstacle between the 16-year-olds and a place in the final of the competition.
The 26-year-old has been one of England’s best performers this summer and scored both goals in the 1-0 victories against Croatia and the Czech Republic.
His impressive form this summer has seen Sterling continue his electric form on the international stage. In the last 19 games for his country, he has scored 14 goals and contributed ten assists, when needed for Gareth Southgate’s side.
The victory over Germany would set a quarter-final date against either Sweden or Ukraine, after which a semi-final would come against either Denmark or the Czech Republic – of the latter drew a big surprise by dumping the Netherlands in round 16.
Should they make it all the way to the final, England could face a real superpower, with Belgium, France, Italy and Spain among the sides vying for a place on that side of the mount.
