Nubel comes to Monaco on a two-year loan
Bayern Munich goalkeeper Alexander Nubel is on his way to France to sign for Monaco on a two-year loan.
The 24-year-old joined Bayern on a free transfer from Schalke last summer but played only four matches in all competitions and instead played the second violin to club captain Manuel Neuer all year.
Nubel, who is the heir to Neuer’s throne in Bavaria, is keen to play regular football at this point in his career, and it seems his club agrees that Sport1 says Nubel is set to spend the next two the years with Monaco.
Nubel, who will undergo his medicine on Saturday, will join former Bayern boss Niko Kovac. Croatia want to bring Monaco closer to the Ligue 1 title after falling out of the race in the last weeks of last season.
In Monaco, Nubel will compete in minutes with first-time starter Benjamin Lecomte, who still has three years left on his contract.

Bayern must now find a new goalkeeper to cover for Neuer, and according to Florian Plettenberg, the German champions are pursuing an agreement to bring Sven Ulreich back to the Allianz Arena.
The 32-year-old, who spent five years as a backup to Neuer between 2015 and 2020, left a free transfer to join Hamburg last summer, but is now a free agent after seeing his one-year contract at Volksparkstadion expire.
Ulreich is expected to sign a two-year deal to replace Neuer while Nubel continues to grow in Monaco.

Bayern have been busy in the transfer market this summer. In addition to reaching an agreement to make Julian Nagelsmann his new manager, the Bundesliga champions have already confirmed the arrival of defenders Dayot Upamecano and Omar Richards, and Ulreich looks like the next player to join them.
Once the goalkeeper situation has been settled, Bayern are also expected to push a new right-back to compete with Benjamin Pavard, and it has also been suggested that a new midfielder be high on their wish list.
