Man Utd predicted the lineup vs Southampton

Manchester United want to continue their exceptional start to the Premier League season when they visit Southampton on Sunday afternoon.

United beat Leeds 5-1 at Old Trafford last weekend to go to the top of the table after the first round, while a poor Saints team was beaten 3-1 by Everton, despite taking the lead.

Ole Gunnar Solskjær was very pleased with how his team went to the match against Leeds, played with pace and always wanted to pass forward and attack.

Here’s a look at United XI that the coach can choose from this week …

David de Gea (GK): The Spaniard was not very busy against Leeds last time and will probably still get the nod in goal as Dean Henderson is still hesitant.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka (RB): Scored one of only two Premier League goals last season against Southampton and can see this game as an opportunity to come forward more often.

Victor Lindelof (CB): Regardless of whether he was directly motivated or not by seeing the reception Raphael Varane received before kick-off, the fact is that the Swede played really well last week.

Harry Maguire (CB): Strong in the back in the season opener, although he will still probably wait to work with Varane for the first time when the Frenchman builds up his fitness.

Luke Shaw (LB): Has become a consistent artist for United on the left after years of ups and downs. Impressed with Leeds and back-up Alex Telles is still injured.

Scott McTominay (CM): Withdrew early to Leeds to protect their fitness after a limited pre-season, but had been a dominant force in midfield during their 69 minutes on the pitch.

Fred (CM): Scored a rare goal against Leeds and then came on the scoreboard again a few days later when United visited Burnley in a closed training match at Old Trafford.

Bruno Fernandes (AM): The Portuguese talisman broke out of midfield at will against Leeds and was rewarded for it with his first United hat-trick.

Jadon Sancho (RW): In line for his full Premier League debut after coming off the bench a week ago and then starting the practice match against Burnley in the middle of the week.

Mason Greenwood (ST): Motivated his choice in a “number nine” role before Anthony Martial against Leeds and was able to get the nod again.

Paul Pogba (LW): Will start from the left but in the end the Frenchman’s role will be quite free to get the most out of him creatively. It worked last week because he got four assists.
