Maguire excited by the Sancho affair
England center-back Harry Maguire has admitted that he is enthusiastic about the possibility of connecting with Jadon Sancho at Manchester United.
United have reached an agreement with Borussia Dortmund to sign Sancho for £ 72.9 million, with only one medical and his signature on a negotiated deal missing.
The deal is expected to be completed when England’s Euro 2020 journey ends, and when he spoke ahead of the Three Lions semi-final against Denmark, Maguire acknowledged that the chance to play alongside someone like Sancho at club level is exciting.
“Jadon is a top player, exceptional talent, a young boy with a lot of experience,” said Maguire (via Sky Sports News). “His numbers speak for themselves, what he has done in Germany. He is a good player.
“I do not think it is clear yet. We can not confirm that he is a Manchester United player, I know it is close but he is still a Dortmund player as it looks. Of course there are exciting times ahead and hopefully we will take it over the line. “

With the Sancho deal almost complete, United have turned their attention to signing a center-back. Real Madrid’s Raphael Varane is a top priority, but talks have also been held with Villarreal’s Pau Torres.
United are also pursuing an interest in Rennes midfielder Eduardo Camavinga, who is expected to be available for around £ 25 million due to his expired contract.
Maguire also took the opportunity to discuss the form of United team-mate Luke Shaw, who was one of the Premier League’s best left-backs last season and has transferred that level to Euro 2020, where he stole the show in a 4-0 win over Ukraine in the quarter-finals.

“His ability has always been there,” Maguire said of Shaw. “He has all the attributes of being one of the best left-backs in the world.
“The biggest difference I feel is his mentality when it comes to pushing himself and the demands he makes on himself to not just be a 6/10 in every game, to not be comfortable, to really push and be himself. himself, and to be the best player on the pitch because there is no reason he can not do it with all the attributes and abilities he has. “
