Locatelli arrives in Turin for medical treatment

Sassuolo and Italian star Manuel Locatelli have arrived in Turin to undergo a medical before his long-awaited 35 million euros to Juventus.

The 23-year-old has been expected to complete a transfer to the Italian giants all summer, but Bianconeri struggled to match Neroverdi’s price tag for the midfielder.

But Juve closed a deal worth 35 million euros plus surcharges for Locatelli on Tuesday, and the Euro 2020 winner has now landed in Turin to complete his medical. He will then sign papers on a five-year agreement that is valid until the summer of 2026.

The Old Lady posted pictures of her new signing at the club’s medical center on Wednesday morning, and the midfielder looked particularly happy that the transfer had finally been given the green light.

Locatelli became an immediate hit during the summer and did twice in the group stage to fire Italy on its way to the Euro 2020 glory. His superb performances led to interest from all over Europe, but the Italian international only had eyes for Juve.

Premier League giants Arsenal made an attempt to sign the Sassuolo star, but he rejected a move to north London, making it clear that Turin was his only destination.

He has been forced to sit tight while Juve and Sassuolo bargained over the finer details of the transfer, as the Serie A giants were initially reluctant to increase their offer over 30 million euros. Juventus then tried to include one of their own stars as part of a game-changing deal, but Sassuolo only wanted money for their talisman.

However, Locatelli’s patience has been rewarded after the two clubs agreed on a deal worth 35 million euros, while Sassuolo could get more supplements throughout his time in Turin. The midfielder has grown to become one of the stars of Italian football in recent years, shining since he left Milan in 2018.

Now one of the most sought after midfielders in Europe, Juventus are hoping that Locatelli will launch them back to the top of Serie A this season.
