Italy predicted the lineup against Wales

Italy have so far been the most prominent in the 2020 European Championships, and with their place in the next round already certain, we can see Roberto Mancini make changes to give some of his squad some valuable minutes.

Back-to-back 3-0 victories over Turkey and Switzerland mean that as long as Italy avoids defeat against Robert Pays Wales, they will win Group A and deserve it.

To top the group, Azzurri may need to get the job done without Giorgio Chiellini – although there is potentially better news about Marco Verratti. Here, 90min predicts the line-up that the former winning manager in the Premier League can choose to join.

Gianluigi Donnarumma (GK) – Has had very little to do in Italy’s opening of two matches but has seen safe between the sticks as always.Alessandro Florenzi (RB) – Will probably return after missing Switzerland due to injury.

Francesco Acerbi (CB) – Should continue in midfield so as not to risk the injured Giorgio Chiellini, who had to be replaced after 24 minutes in the middle of the week.

Leonardo Bonnuci (CB) – His experience and knowledge are crucial, even more so when he manages without Chiellini’s leadership qualities.

Leonardo Spinazzola (LB) – Effective at both ends of the pitch and has caught the eye with its energetic screens.

Jorginho (CM) – Roberto Mancini’s midfield metronome. His tactical discipline and willingness to fill spaces left by the more forward-looking Nicolo Barella and Manuel Locatelli have enabled the pair to flourish forward.

Nicolo Barella (CM) – His industry has made it possible for Italy to find the perfect midfield balance so far. Entered the tournament under pressure to perform and so far he has lived up to his billing.

Marco Verratti (CM) – Probably Italy’s best midfielder and he has not even played yet. With his place in the next round secure, it’s the perfect time to give the Paris Saint-Germain man a few minutes – and give Locatelli a breather.

Federico Chiesa (RW) – Unlucky not to have started any of Italy’s first two matches, Chiesa was able to come in for Dominico Berardi – where he hopes to show more of the form he showed in Serie A for Juventus.

Ciro Immobile (ST) – Has netted twice in these finals already and even though he may not say it in public, he will have the tournament’s golden boot in sight.

Lorenzo Insigne (LW) – Lots of Italy’s impressive build-up games have been channeled through Insigne, which can earn a third start in a row here.
