Lukaku sealed his £ 97.5m return to Chelsea earlier this month, with Thomas Tuchel identifying him as the perfect man to make the most of the club’s other forwards, namely Havertz and Timo Werner.

After seeing Lukaku score 64 goals and 16 assists in just 95 games for Inter, Havertz admitted to Bild that he is drooling over the possibility of working with the Belgian next year.

“Romelu is a fantastic striker,” he said. “He has proven what he can do, including recently at the European Championships.

“He is a reinforcement for every club in the world, and I will be very happy when I can get some assistance for him.”

Alongside Havertz, the hope is that Werner will also benefit from Lukaku’s arrival. The former RB Leipzig man had a mixed debut season at Chelsea -12 goals and 15 assists is solid, but pales in comparison to the 34 and 13 he managed his final year in Germany.

The two expensive Germans both began to find their trail after manager Thomas Tuchel’s arrival, and Havertz hopes that the couple’s speed will continue in the coming season.

“I hope so [things will be easier]”, Sa Havertz.” The start for both of us was not so good.

“With that said, we feel completely calm. We have got used to football, the lifestyle, the people. Hopefully it will be easier after a tricky year with the pandemic and everything else.

“The return of the fans is fantastic, it creates a completely different atmosphere and is one of the main reasons why I wanted to go to England.”
