Harry Kane thinks of Jose Mourinho who kicks

Harry Kane has given his thoughts on Jose Mourinho’s departure from Tottenham earlier this week and stated that he was “surprised” by the decision.

Despite Tottenham’s recent battle under Mourinho – the club have lost ten Premier League games already this season – and fans’ dissatisfaction with the style of play that had been adopted, Kane was a huge benefactor of the former manager’s strategy. Just like with the burden of scoring goals and creating goals that were only placed on the shoulder of Son Heung-min and Kane, he enjoyed scoring 21 league goals and helping 13.

In a recent interview with Sky Sports, Kane has revealed that, surprisingly (given the numbers above), he had a “fantastic” relationship with Mourinho:

“I had a good relationship with Jose, I wish him all the best for whatever his next job is, but he knows as we know football can be beheaded and we just have to look forward to it.

Kane has also revealed the details of the day Mou was fired by the club and stated that he only got to know the news ten minutes before it was announced to the public:

“I was surprised – I’m going to be completely honest. I came in in the morning and probably found out 5-10 minutes before it was announced.

“A lot of focus was on the Carabao Cup final and preparations for it, but look, it’s football. I’ve been here now where a couple of bosses have been fired and as a player now I do not think you ever expect the boss to be fired. but it’s part of the game, you have to deal with it. “

Along with discussing Mourinho, Kane addressed the Super League implosion:

“I liked the result of it. I did not really like the idea of it if I am honest. I can fully understand the point of view of the fans. From the point of view of many people it was not quite right. It has obviously ended for now. I am proud of the fans to keep stick to what they believe in. I’m happy with what the result has been.

“For football in general, it’s good as it is. Competitiveness is an important part of football and that’s why we play football.”

Late fitness tests allow Kane to lead Tottenham to Wembley for the Carabao Cup final on Sunday.
