Dortmund is considering a new Sancho offer
Manchester United have made an improved second offer to Borussia Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho worth more than the £ 75m opening bid rejected by the Bundesliga side.
United have had an eye on Sancho since the end of 2019 to fill an issue on the right flank. But even though the two clubs could not agree on a price last summer when talks were dragged into an imperishable stalemate, there has been much greater optimism, a deal will be met this time.
90 minutes first reported United’s willingness to agree on a £ 75m package back in mid-May. An opening offer when it arrived in June was estimated at a value of £ 67 million with an additional £ 8 million in addition, but it was rejected by Dortmund, who are holding out for a higher guaranteed advance fee.
During the talks in 2021, the proposed payment structure for the deal is considered to have been the most important part of the ongoing negotiations. Sky Sports now adds that a second bid worth “more than £ 75 million” and with a higher fee has been made. Dortmund is considering that offer.
A report from Germany earlier this month stated that the price of Sancho, which has fallen dramatically since it was quoted at 120 million euros a year ago, is 90 million euros. That equates to around £ 77.3 million, suggesting that the two clubs are not really too far apart.

United have never wavered in their quest for Sancho, despite the 21-year-old briefly losing form at the start of the 2020/21 campaign. They have remained impressed by his attitude and maturity throughout the story, as he has always been respectful of both sides of the table.
The overwhelming feeling about the talks this year is that United and Dortmund are both hopeful and optimistic about being able to reach an agreement, which in itself is a big step forward from this time last year when there was no real progress in several months.
