Declan Rice says that England “showed that people were wrong” against Germany
Declan Rice has said that England “proved people wrong” by defeating Germany in the Euro 2020 round.
Goals from Raheem Sterling and Harry Kane secured a 2-0 victory at Wembley that booked the Three Lions a place in the quarter-finals against either Sweden or Ukraine.
After a shaky start, Rice had a fantastic game and bounced back from an early yellow card to show great control and discipline along with Kalvin Phillips.
Rice told the BBC after the match, saying: “It’s unbelievable. A lot of people when they watched group games had written off us. Complaints about the performance, without scoring enough goals. wants to prove people wrong. “
Rice also said that this current England side are history makers, with Germany previously proving to be a bogey team for the Three Lions at major tournaments.

“It’s history. In press conferences this week, all players have been asked about the previous matches against Germany, but today we created our own history,” he said.
“We are here at Wembley. Gary Neville said last night that these do not come often and we have taken advantage of that opportunity. It was a pleasure to be out on the pitch.”
Rice continued to exaggerate praise for goalkeepers Sterling and Kane, while revealing that faith is high in the locker room Three Lions.
“Raz has just shown that so many people are wrong. He scores so many goals for us, he is crucial. H is made for the big moment. He ran the socks into the ground and scored the goal that put the game in bed.
Declan Rice was on a reservation for 80 minutes. Did not hide, just grew into it and became more powerful. Defending midfielder who has assured England has not yet conceded a goal. If you do not rate him, you do not know what you are looking at.

“We do not want to go too far ahead of ourselves because Saturday is also a huge game now. All I can say about today is the occasion, the fans, the players – we were ready for it in the locker room. I have not been part of a team with “We are all in it with each other. We really believe we have the quality and with the tournament being at Wembley we believe we can continue.”
