Daryl Dike returns to Orlando City on loan at Barnsley

After a whirlwind loan with the English championship team Barnsley, forward Daryl Dike is back with Orlando City.

During his time with Barnsley, he played 21 games and scored nine goals that inspired the English team to the limit of the Premier League campaign. His fantastic performance sparked rumors of a transfer that would keep the forward at Barnsley, but in the end, the English side rejected the option to buy.

After Dike left Barnsley, Dike made his debut with the US men’s national team in the country’s stellar Nations League. In an interview with Orlando City, Daryl Dike discussed the new rumors surrounding his future as well as his past and future.

“It is obvious that for me I have been blessed to go on the experience at Barnsley and play with the national team as well,” said the forward.

“I have had many experiences and I told myself from the beginning that I want to take back everything I have learned about the new culture, learn about the new style of play and come back here and see how I have grown as a player. When it comes to all the extra things that happen, it’s just something when the time comes. For me right now, the focus is on getting used to the team and seeing how I can influence the games in the coming weeks. ”

Before retiring, Daryl Dike played 17 games for Orlando City 2020, scoring eight goals and four assists. While playing for MLS, Dike stood out as one of the most exciting young players to watch.

“For me, I have always said that I want to play in the best competitions, play against the top competition and play under the biggest staff,” said Dike.

So far, I have been blessed to see guys like Nani, who have won lots of competitions. For me, I want to be able to compete at high levels, regardless of whether it is at the World Cup and playing in all these top competitions in the world. For me, I just want to continue to grow as a player and be able to do those things. ”

He went on to explain his excitement about reconnecting Orlando City and inspiring title winners with the MLS side.

“This squad has already proven that they can compete at the top level. For me, of course, I just want to be part of it, I want to help the team as much as possible. There is certainly something that can happen. ”
