Contact Lewandowski’s agent

Chelsea have reached out to Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski’s agent to discuss a potential transfer this summer.

The Polish hitman has flirted with the idea of leaving the club and admits that he is “open-minded” about his future, and this has aroused interest in Chelsea and Manchester City, who are both chasing a new striker this summer.

For Chelsea, their main desire is to sign Erling Haaland, but the Borussia Dortmund man may be unavailable even if the Blues make an offer of 150 million pounds, and they are therefore looking for other goals.

The Sun revealed earlier this week that a £ 50m move for Lewandowski could be on the cards, and which has since been taken to the next level by Sport Bild (via Transfermarkt), which says contact has been established between Chelsea and Lewandowski’s agent, Pini Zahavi .

Interestingly, Zahavi is known for being close to Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich. The Israeli agent helped broker Abramovich’s purchase of the Blues back in 2003 and has worked with the club on many different transfers, including for players he does not even represent.

Chelsea have not yet submitted a formal proposal to Zahavi but have discussed Lewandowski’s potential salary, and the figures on the table are “very interesting” for Poland.

After seven years of global dominance with Bayern, Lewandowski is believed to be keen to test himself elsewhere, and given that he is about to turn 33, he may only have one big contract left in him.

There is also little concern that Bayern’s future may not be as bright as theirs. Big players like David Alaba and Thiago left for pennies after refusing to extend their contracts and there are fears that such as Kingsley Coman, Niklas Sule and Leon Goretzka could do the same next summer. .

Lewandowski wants assurances from Bayern that they will continue to spend big and dominate in the Champions League, but these promises will not come yet, which makes Chelsea’s status as reigning European champions a little more appealing.

The Blues’ focus is still on landing Haaland, but the search for cheaper alternatives and links to Lewandowski continues to gain momentum.
