Chelsea have confirmed the departure of Davide Zappacosta, who has joined Atalanta on a permanent deal.
The defender signed for Blues 2017 and has since made 52 appearances in all competitions. His latest Chelsea career has been spent on loan with Zappacosta who went to Roma for the 2019/20 campaign before spending last season in Genoa.

Now he is returning to Italy again – only this time permanently with Atalanta. Zappacosta can face their former club in the Champions League this season.
He will be the latest player out the door at Stamford Bridge this summer with Tammy Abraham, Marc Guehi and Olivier Giroud all retiring in recent months. They can be joined by Kurt Zouma before the transfer window closes as well, as he is a target for West Ham.
