who’s the staff that the government suspect?

Over 1,800 prisoners dressed in Nigeria. They fled in an armed group attack on a prison in Owerri, in the state of Imo, in the southeastern part of the country. And for the authorities, it is the trail from Biafran’s separatists that seems privileged.

According to the Nigerian police chief, the attackers would be well “members of Ipob, The Indigeanous People of Biafra”. IPOB was created in 2012 and has established itself as one of the most important independence organizations in the region. The movement was originally peaceful, very active via a radio station founded by their leader Nnamdi Kanu, Radio Biafra. In recent years, following Kanu’s arrest and subsequent exile, the movement has taken a military turn, especially with the creation of its armed wing called the ESN “Eastern Security Network”.

On Monday, the Ipob spokesman denied that the offensive originated, but the attack on Imo Prison comes a week after the arrest of 16 members of the ESN, which is suspected to be the source of many attacks by Nigerian security forces. Nnamdi Kanu even tweeted a few hours later “that no soul deserves to be imprisoned in Nigeria”.

For his part, President Muhammadu Buhari condemned attacks by terrorists and anarchists. And the neighboring state of Abia immediately declared at 22.00 to 06.00.
