Baye Modou Fall, aka “Boy Djinné” – “the young genius” in Wolof, was arrested on Thursday (June 3) near Tambacounda, in the east of the country. The prisoner, who became known after 12 escapes – according to the press release – strengthened his reputation by fleeing his prison in Dakar again during the night from Saturday to Sunday last year. Already arrested several times, especially for cases of theft and robbery, he declared that he fled to protest against “delays of justice” in his act.

Back to box one. After his arrest in Missirah, about thirty kilometers from Tambacounda, “Boy Djinné” was made available to the research section of the Dakar Gendarmerie.
The refugee was arrested with three alleged accomplices, a source close to the file indicates. He was himself in a vehicle with two men, another on a motorcycle. “He said he wanted to go to neighboring Mali,” said our source. In the car, the gendarmes found money, mobile phones and “burglary equipment”, “crowbars or screwdrivers”.
Even the nickname “Senegalese Michael Scofield”, named after the hero of the American TV series “Prison Break”, attributes some even mysterious forces to the thirty. But on the ITV TV channel the day after his escape, the person explained that he simply broke the ventilation grille in his cell before going out “with the help of a rope”.
This deal cost the director of the Freedom 6 Penal Camp in Dakar his job. The investigation continues to determine whether “Boy Djinné” benefited from participation, internally or externally.
