French lawyer Maître Antoine Vey stood at the bedside of his client, opponent Reckya Madougou, this weekend in the civil prison of Missérété, on the outskirts of Porto Novo.

The opponent, failed candidate to Democrats party in the presidential election has been prosecuted for “criminal association and terrorism” since March. Antoine Vey is one of the two French lawyers for the Benin opponent. His stay was short, he stayed 48 hours and saw his client twice in the civil prison in Missérété, at the exit of Porto Novo.
The Special Prosecutor approved the two visits. The two meetings between his client and his lawyer lasted a total of 4 and a half hours, in a private visiting room and under strict supervision, the lawyer condemned. A window separated him from his client, I still regret Me Vey.
The lawyer reports that Reckya Madougou shares a cell for forty residents with eight fellow prisoners. It had a refrigerator, a microwave, a radio station. Everything would have been taken away from him.

Mr Veypla also helps to be placed under judicial supervision, as the case in his eyes is empty. He announces for the end of next week, a document that presents for the first time the version of facts about Reckya Madougou.
He also intends to adopt the arbitrary detention working group in Geneva to report on the Madougou case. The date of the trial is still unknown. According to our information, the agenda depends on the committee of inquiry.
