no use for Egypt against Brazil in the quarterfinals

The Egyptian football team was eliminated in the quarterfinals of the Olympic tournament by Brazil, this Saturday, July 31 in Saitama (1-0). The Egyptians fall against one of the big favorites.

Like Ivory Coast before, Egypt could not create a surprise. The Egyptians opposed the reigning Olympic champions Brazilians lost in the quarterfinals at Saitama Stadium (1-0).

Dominated, the pharaohs burst logically before half time: Everton striker Richarlison fixed on the left side before serving at the entrance to the area Matheus Cunha who tricked the goalkeeper with a cross shot (1-0, 37th).

The Egyptians, weaned off the ball, only managed to be dangerous at the end of the match but came up against a solid Brazilian defense.

After keeping Spain in check, losing to Argentina and winning against Australia in the group stage, Egypt therefore stays in the quarter-finals, as it did during its most recent participation in the 2012 Olympics.

There will be no African team in the last four Olympic Games.
