The visit of the former British Prime Minister to Bamako took place at a rapid pace. He told the press that the institute bearing his name is ready to support the ongoing institutional reforms and in the organization of the elections, which are in principle planned for next year, in particular the presidential election.

“We are fully available to support the transitional government on very important axes, including institutional reform and the electoral process,” Tony Blair explained.
According to our information, Tony Blair has, among other things, decided to give Mali two experts: one will be responsible for helping with institutional reforms, the other for the next election. The latter will in particular work with Malian General Siaka Sangaré, delegated to the election, and an internationally recognized expert.
