For these young Burkinabè in the face of the pandemic, it was necessary to transpose terms associated with covid19 into their daily lives. They see this as a kind of resistance to the pandemic.
“To be covid” means to be infected with Coronavirus, explains Philippe Somé. “because, especially in the context of Burkina Faso, we say to ourselves that after the disease these people will create sumptuous villas.”.

It is also with humor that these terms are used during their exchange. If populations are to learn to live with the coronavirus, it must be done in a good mood, according to Frederic Tindano.

We can also hear that “the debate is covid”. This means that there is no resort, it is blocked. ”

For these young people, the use of these terms is a form of struggle against the Covid-19 pandemic.
