According to his party, his march was blocked on the road about a hundred kilometers from the city by minibuses filled with supporters of President Alpa Condé, but also tree trunks. He finally decided to return.

Violent clashes ensued in Kankan between supporters of the two camps with damage and dozens of shops looted. Guinea’s security minister Albert Damatang Camara has denied police involvement in the incident.
