The West Nouakchott prosecutor is working on reports from police investigators in the fight and the repression of economic crimes.

Police conducted investigation based on the results of the police report of the Commission of Inquiry parliamentarians who heard more than 300 people between January and July 2020. Their report pointed to a set of slips in the management of seven sectors, including transport, land, energy and road and airport infrastructure.

In the cases of maladministration revealed in the report, the people questioned, including former ministers and prime ministers, but also directors of large public companies, pointed to the responsibility of former CEO Mohamed Ould Abdel Aziz.

The latter, who is talking about a campaign of harassment and demonization, has denied several allegations at press conferences several times.
