Two Sukhoi, Russian-made fighter jets belonging to the Angolan army, were at an air show in the sky over Kinshasa on Friday. The military exercise on Friday was intended to “enlarge the perfect understanding between the two air forces”, the Congolese army explains. These plans, add advisers from the President of the Republic, are thus made available to the Congolese air force if necessary.
But on the FCC side, Kikaya Bin Karubi, former diplomatic adviser to Joseph Kabila, claims that “this is a message addressed to the former president of the republic.” “It is a useless message,” he added, as the crisis could find a solution internally within the framework of the coalition agreement that binds Félix Tshisekedi to his predecessor.
Kikaya Bin Karubi also claims that the former president’s political family denies this position adopted by the current government, which, he says, wants to show muscle after the programmed failure of the political consultations that Felix Tshisekedi began about two weeks ago.
“If they are concerned about these flight maneuvers, they have a plan against the Republic,” replied a member of Félix Tshisekedi’s cabinet, who was very pleased with the strengthening of relations between Kinshasa and Luanda.
