DRC: the governors of the 26 provinces meet
In the DRC, the 26 provincial governors are summoned to Kinshasa for a conference on President Félix-Antoine Tshisekedi. Theme for this meeting: “the governance of the provinces in the current democratic environment, challenges and opportunities”. A meeting with governors culminating in the crisis within the ruling FCC-CACH coalition, which was to benefit the Tshisekedi clan to the detriment of his rival Joseph Kabila.
This meeting is the second of its kind in the first five-year term of Kabila’s successor, and it comes after a series of events that have weakened Joseph Kabila’s FCC …
First, there was deprivation of Jeanine Mabunda, the President of the National Assembly and of all her office, in essence, the FCC.
Second setback for the FCC: the letter from six pro-Kabila senators informing the former leader of a number of dysfunctions on the political platform, calling for his coordination to be withdrawn.
In an attempt to save what can be saved, a crisis commission was set up by the former president … This commission, explains Raymond Tshibanda, its president, will continue his consultation with national elected officials and heads of political groups to try to understand the outbreak and try to reunite the Kabila clan …
Should we then expect other members of the FCC to join President Felix Tshisekedi’s camp? UDPS General Secretary, President Augustin Kabuya reveals that he has been courted by several governors who support Kabila, who express their desire to join the Holy Union for Nation, the one that should support the philosophy in the process of the Republic President.
