The Attorney General of the Kinshasa-Gombe Court of Appeal issued a search warrant against Kalev Mutond, former Secretary General of the National Intelligence Agency (ANR). This, after the latter refused to come to the prosecution after several summonses. The former supercup is the target of about 10 complaints filed by former intelligence prisoners. When he hides, Kalev Mutond still hopes that the situation will be resolved in a different way than by this procedure.

Kalev Mutond had requested and received the change from the judge who examined the case files about him. However, nothing has changed in this case. The prosecution launched several submissions, including a search warrant, an arrest warrant and a desired message.
For their part, Kalev Mutond’s lawyers continue to condemn what they call an “unfair procedure.” They say they are aware of the existence of a letter from the current head of ANR to the prosecutor.
In this correspondence, the current No. 1 of the intelligence services would have opposed the continuation of the procedure. Kalev Mutond’s lawyers say they fear for their client’s life because they say they do not know where he is.
They thus request that the desired message be withdrawn from circulation. “Our client has a known fixed address. There is also a decision prohibiting him from leaving the national territory, ”explains Bâtonnier Mbere Cyprien, one of his lawyers.
At this stage, he continues, the procedure is unclear. “We want to know if the current head of ANR has issued a negative statement about the prosecution. Our client is ready to respond to justice in all the facts imposed on him ”.
On Friday, the lawyers sent a correspondence to the various concerned and competent judicial authorities in hopes of winning their case.
