Christian Guenebem appointed head of KNK,

In a document released Saturday night, Christian Guenebem was appointed interim president of the party by François Bozizé himself, who officially took over the coordination of the Coalition of Patriots for Change (CPC).

as reported from Bangui, Charlotte Cosset

The document is signed: “Army General François Bozizé” on February 18 in Kamba Kota. It was the same day that François Bozizé agreed to become it CPC Coordinatorafter the February 15 appeal by armed groups.

Christian Guenebem, deputy secretary of the party currently outside the Central African Republic, is therefore taking over as interim leader of the KNK. What about François Bozizé’s role in the party? Christian Guenebem assures that he is withdrawn from himself by taking the head of the CPC.

And what about KNK versus CPC? Christian Guenebem confirms that the party’s position has always been clear: he has always called for an immediate end to the fighting and demanded an inclusive dialogue between all actors in the conflict.

“I hope from this point of view that justice and authorities will make a difference,” Christian Guenebem said. This change in the leadership of the party is coming while the rumor in Bangui has been running for several weeks about the desire to dissolve the KNK.
