Israeli Airstrike in Gaza Claims Lives of 10, Including 7 Children, Rescuers Report
In a tragic incident early this morning, an Israeli airstrike has resulted in the death of ten members of the same family, including seven children, in the southern city of Khan Younis, according to reports from Gaza’s civil defense agency.
Mahmud Bassal, a spokesperson for the agency, shared the devastating news, stating, “Ten individuals, among them seven children, were received at the hospital as martyrs following an Israeli airstrike that targeted the al-Farra family home in central Khan Younis,” in an interview with AFP.
When reached for comment regarding the airstrike, the Israeli military indicated that it is currently investigating the incident.
Eyewitnesses have reported sustained and intense tank fire from Israeli forces within Khan Younis, creating an atmosphere of fear and uncertainty.
Earlier today, the Israeli military issued an urgent evacuation warning to residents in various areas east of Gaza City. “The IDF is operating with great force in your areas to destroy terrorist infrastructure,” Avichay Adraee, the military’s Arabic-language spokesman, conveyed on X. He emphasized, “For your safety, you must evacuate these areas immediately and move to the designated shelters in western Gaza City.”
This situation underscores the ongoing complexity and human cost of the conflict, urging a broader conversation about the impact on civilian lives.
