Serie A strikers Dusan Vlahovic and Simy have both emerged as transfer targets for Tottenham this summer, as they are looking for a backup (not a replacement) for Harry Kane.
Fabio Paratici’s arrival in north London has already seen that Spurs want to use their knowledge of the Italian market, with Pierluigi Gollini’s arrival already confirmed and offers for Takehiro Tomiyasu and Cristian Romero seem to be on the way.

Although there has been no shortage of rumors of potential new signings at Tottenham this summer, the backs continue to be dominated by Kane’s eventual departure.
90 Minutes recently revealed that Daniel Levy has no intention of selling his valuable asset this summer and is becoming increasingly frustrated with speculation about Kane’s future. Instead, Spurs want to give backup to their principal because they are working under the assumption that he will be at the club next season.
Carlos Vinicius played the second fiddle for the English striker throughout the 2020/21 campaign, although his return to Benfica means that Nuno Espirito Santo needs reinforcements in the front line. The Telegraph reports that Fiorentina’s Vlahovic and Crotone’s Simy are Spurs’ main targets.
21-year-old Vlahovic comfortably enjoyed his best goal-scoring campaign so far last season when he scored 21 goals in 37 Serie A trips, while Simy’s impressive 20-goal effort in 38 league games was not enough to prevent Crotone from being rumored.
Given Crotone’s status as a Serie B outfit, Simy is likely to represent the cheaper option for the two. But if Spurs are looking for a more long-term solution, young Vlahovic could be the man they target the 29-year-old Nigeria international.
With Bryan Gil from Sevilla arriving already confirmed and Spurs actively seeking a backup alternative to Kane, it seems Levy has no intention of diverting from his stance that England ahead are not for sale as he looks to build around his star man.
