Ole Gunnar Solskjær signs new Man Utd agreement

You wait months for some big news to come out of a club and suddenly they just go crazy and shower us with stuff.

Barely 24 hours since Manchester United finally ended a soap opera that has gone beyond Coronation Street by announcing the arrival of Jadon Sancho, the club has now confirmed that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has signed a new three-year contract at the club.

Our past. Our gift. ??? ??????.

?? We are pleased to announce that Ole has signed a new agreement with the club! #MUFC

Ole Gunnar Solskjær has written a new deal in Manchester United! ✍️

– 90min (@ 90min_Football) July 24, 2021

Say what you like about the Norwegian boss’s time, the Red Devils have improved their final league standings during both of the two full seasons he has been in charge at Old Trafford – secured Champions League football two years on trot – and they look like they could finally have little stability after years of unrest following the departure of Sir Alex Ferguson.

Given United’s steady progress since Solskjaer took over, it’s probably no surprise to hear that parts of the Twitter universe showed full support for the announcement.

Sunshine signing a contract is brilliant news. If you do not play fifa. Have a pogba profile picture here. Or run an account just to get followers. Have a nice day. Do you have a very good day gentlemen? #UTFR #MUFC

Absolutely brilliant news. Solskjaer really deserves this to give back the club we love. #MUFC https://t.co/t7SFCMRWzr

Man Utd have made their most important summer signing with Ole Gunnar Solskjær’s new agreement https://t.co/Z6cPcSjYbx

Isn’t it nice when everyone on social media can agree on something and there is no quarrel?

You should know that this is not how Twitter works …

CRIME: Ed Woodward just deleted the word “AMBITION” from the Man United dictionary after rewarding Ole Gunnar Solskjær a new contract for losing 4 semi-finals, 1 quarter-final and a Europa League final with Manchester United.

– CFCMob (@CFCMob_) July 24, 2021

He lost the Champions League. He lost the European final. FA cup in bottle. Bottle of Carabao.

Not to mention several semi-final bottle jobs. So why does he get a new contract?

Does he own naked families from Glazer? Ed Woodwards nudes? What is going on ? https://t.co/t1pyZvjltR

I am positive with the news that Ole has signed a new deal, but 3 years is a bit long. All this conversation we played attacking football last season according to Woodward? For me, Ole must win a trophy this season to be judged as a success. #MUFC

Ole Gunnar Solskjær’s trophy cabinet at Man Utd after two and a half years.

Is he the right man to lead the club? #MUFC pic.twitter.com/b7GOoawW3A

If Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is Chelsea’s manager, he would have been fired ten times by Roman Abramovich. This guy bottled and won the Europa League trophy two seasons in a row and somehow gets a new extension contract with Man United?

Think about all this, today is Solskjaer’s day and he really deserves all the praise that comes his way for pulling United away from the threat of becoming a mid-table Premier League side – a situation that really looked like it could be on the horizon at a dot.

Well, we say it’s his day, that would be true except for the fact that everyone on Twitter decided to start losing their opinions about Ed Woodward – they were not very nice opinions either.

Great job Agent Woodward one last sabotage ?? #oleatthewheel https://t.co/9QsWVXeU8I

Woodward destroys my dear club before he leaves. ?

Anyway, good to see Ed Woodward still has no idea about football? ‍♂️

– abudhabiexpat (@AbuDhabiExpat) July 24, 2021

Anyway, forget all the negativity about the move, some of Solksjaer’s statistics since taking the reins in United are quite impressive …

16 – Ole Gunnar Solskjær has made 16 different teenagers his debut at Manchester United during his 151 leading matches, one more than José Mourinho, Louis van Gaal, Ryan Giggs and David Moyes did at the club together (15 in 302 matches). Tradition. pic.twitter.com/TDKJJ7gIma

180 – Since Ole Gunnar Solskjær’s first match as head of the club in December 2018, only Manchester City (221) and Liverpool (217) have received more Premier League points than Manchester United’s total 180. Extension. pic.twitter.com/3dl3NoeGyh

So much to be happy about for United fans going forward then, but at least they are a sensible bunch who know not to get ahead of themselves.

will it bro✊? pic.twitter.com/1mVgqUAOvR
