Italy matches EURO’s longest victory

Italy has matched a competition record winner at UEFA EURO 2020, where Belgium hopes to be able to match their run tonight.

The longest run of UEFA European Championship victories – including qualifiers – is included in 14 matches. This was confirmed by Joachim Löw’s Germany, who won all ten of their UEFA EURO 2012 qualifiers, as well as their first three group matches and their quarter-finals in the tournament in Poland and Ukraine. They then lost to Italy in the last four.

Belgium and Italy both reached UEFA EURO 2020 with immaculate records: ten wins out of ten. The pair then won all three of their group games, with Italy’s 2-1 victory over Austria taking their number to 14 wins on the bounce. Belgium must beat Portugal to stay on track and have a chance to record a 15th victory in the quarterfinals.
