Achraf Hakimi suspended to write from Inter

Inter look to make a significant profit on right-back Achraf Hakimi as PSG have agreed on terms for a deal worth 70 million euros (60 million pounds) for the Moroccan.

Hakimi has had a formidable season since joining Serie A last summer, playing a key role in Nerazzurri’s historic title win. They finally finished with the campaign 12 points from second place AC Milan, where Hakimi’s seven goals and ten assists played a central role in getting them there.

The Real Madrid academy candidate has caught the eye with his creativity and explosive engine on the far right, and while Chelsea have previously been strongly linked to a move, it now seems as if PSG have moved up in the queue.

Various reports, derived from ESPN, claim that the Ligue 1 side have agreed on terms for a deal worth about 60 million pounds for his signature. They had hoped to earn more, but that represents a 50% mark-up on what they paid for him a year ago, and given their current financial situation, it is a sensible deal from the Italian champions.

It is claimed that Hakimi was anxious to move and had been pushing for it to happen since their interest first arose over a month ago. It is believed that he has already agreed on personal terms for a five-year deal in the French capital, and the deal can be announced immediately.

Gazzetta dello Sport (via SportWitness) says that Chelsea have made a “desperate” last ditch bid of 55 million euros plus Marcos Alonso. There is also a possibility of a direct contract of 65 million euros with Inter who will send back 10 million euros later, but regardless of PSG is believed to be out in the competition for Hakimi.

Hakimi, who has now impressed in two of Europe’s five major leagues after his fantastic loan spell at Borussia Dortmund, will be PSG’s third summer deal following Georginio Wijnaldum’s free transfer and Gianluigi Donnarumma’s imminent arrival from AC Milan.
