Nuno Espirito Santo favorites
Former Wolves boss Nuno Espirito Santo has emerged as the favorite to be named Tottenham’s new boss as the long-running search continues.
Spurs have been looking for a new man at the helm for what appears to be an eternity, with many candidates falling by the wayside for various reasons.
Former Juventus sporting director Fabio Paratici was recently announced as the club’s CEO, although the Italian’s arrival has done little to speed up the recruitment process after talks with Paulo Fonseca and then Gennaro Gattuso broke down.
Nuno left Wolves at the end of last season after four impressive seasons at Molineux, and the Daily Mail now reports that he emerged as a front-runner to be named the new Spurs boss.
The Tottenham hierarchy is currently understood to be considering the appointment of the former Wolves boss, although Brighton boss Graham Potter is also being considered.
Tottenham chief technical officer Steve Hitchen is keen for the club to appoint an English manager following Jose Mourinho’s disastrous reign at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, but Nuno’s experience in England means he is currently seen as the second best option.

Nuno had expected to return to Portugal to be with his family, but the opportunity to have the chance to manage one of England’s best clubs is something he is willing to consider.
With Levy and his staff considering the pros and cons of a move for the 47-year-old, one of the concerns expressed was Wolves’ poor end to the 2020/21 season.
The Portuguese tactician led his side to back-to-back seventh-place finishes in his first two seasons back in the Premier League, but his final season at the club saw them end in a disappointing 13th after just three wins from their last 13 appearances.
Proponents of Nuno’s move have identified the loss of Raul Jimenez to injury and the sale of Diogo Jota as the reason for their decline, and with ongoing discussions, it appears that Nuno is – at the moment – their preferred choice.
